The First Regimental Combat Team as part of the Tenth Army formed the first wave of reinforcement sent to quell the uprising in the Magistracy of Canopus in 2765. As they moved forward to relieve the defenders of the besieged forts, they were struck by the Secret Army and only additional SLDF reinforcements prevented disaster. As the campaign progressed, in theater commander Joan Brandt ordered the Tenth along with the Ninth Army to push deeper into the Magistracy in order to isolate the capital, and by 2767 plans were underway to capture Canopus when General Kerensky ordered a cessation of hostilities.[2]
In 2771, General Aaron DeChavilier ordered the 1st RCT along with all other surviving Regimental Combat Teams to start reconnaissance probes and raids into Amaris held world in the Hegemony as part of Operation INTRUDER. New Home was assaulted in March 2775 the First along with the Fifth Regimental Combat Team and the 241st Volunteer Division constituted the advance force. They arrived via a pirate point after the initial naval engagement and secured the landing zones of the Twenty-fourth Army Group. [5]
