History

Alpha Newt were one of Clan Steel Vipers training units, led by experienced officers. The Newt Trinaries teach the newly graduated warriors to fight as a unit and act as "feeder" units for the front line Galaxies.[1]

Post Invasion

In June 3052, Alpha Newt was committed to an invasion of Blackjack alongside the Fourth Viper Guards and Alpha Solahma Clusters. The three Viper units faced the Third and Fourth Talon Clusters of Clan Jade Falcon. The lanet fell to the Vipers within 24 hours.[2]

In 3061 the Trinary was stationed on Jabuka,[3] but by 3067 they had taken up position on Homer with the rest of Alpha Galaxy.[4]

The Seventh and Eighth Reserve Battle Clusters of Clan Coyote ambushed the Alpha Newt Cluster outside of Tolson, on Foster in 3072 decimating them.[5]
