Description
Originally conceived of in the twenty-eighth century as a part of the same development project that birthed the Marauder, the Dragon Fire never made the transition from a design on paper to an actual production model. The discovery of the Gray Death Memory Core gave the Dragon Fire a new lease on life and the 'Mech first saw production in late 3058. The Dragon Fire carries an impressive arsenal of weapons that is made possible through the use of a Pitban 300 XL engine that weighs half as much as a standard engine and still provides the Dragon Fire with a top speed of 64.8 km/h. The Dragon Fire carries an impressive fourteen and a half tons of ArcShield Maxi II armor. It also has CASE to protect the 'Mech from excessive damage from an ammunition explosion, though that will not stop the 'Mech from shutting down. Finally, to disrupt enemy electronic warfare equipment, the Dragon Fire has a Guardian ECM Suite.[3]
Weapons and Equipment
The primary weapon on the Dragon Fire is a Zeus Slingshot Gauss rifle that provides excellent long range firepower. This is backed up by a Mydron Excel LB-X Autocannon/10, which is capable of firing both standard and cluster ammunition, making the Dragon Fire a capable vehicle hunter and anti-aircraft 'Mech. An Exostar Large Laser provides secondary firepower to the Dragon Fires ammunition heavy weapons. For close combat, the Dragon Fire carries a pair of Defiance B4M Medium Pulse Lasers.[3]
Variants
- DGR-4F
- A basic upgrade of the 3F model, the 4F replaces the Large Laser with an ER Large Laser, giving it a longer effective range.[1] The 4F model is otherwise identical to the 3F. BV (1.0) = 1,565,[6][7][8] BV (2.0) = 1,900[9]
- DGR-6FC
- This version of the Dragon Fire carries the ER Large Laser of the 4F but downgrades the medium pulse lasers to extended-range versions. Most of the hitting power comes from a Gauss Rifle and an LB 10-X autocannon. It also carries an extra heat sink and a C3i Computer to coordinate attacks with its fellows; the ECM suite is removed.[1] BV (1.0) = 1,527,[10] BV (2.0) = 1,858[11]

- DGR-7FC Dragon Fire Gregory
- Belonging to Thirty-seventh Division Demi-Precentor and later Precentor Gregory Kishimoto. The custom 'Mech was equipped with a Light Fusion Engine, an Improved C3i computer, a Small Cockpit, and used an Endosteel skeleton. For weaponry, it had a very powerful left torso-mounted Heavy Gauss Rifle with 2 tons of ammunition. This gun was backed up by a plasma rifle with two 2 tons of ammunition, which were protected by CASE. For an added medium-range punch, this custom variant also had a Light PPC and a pair of ER Medium Lasers.[12] BV (2.0) = 2,230[13]

- This variant was first modified by changing the Gauss rifle for a Light Gauss Rifle ripping out the ECM package so he could upgrade the Autocannon to the twelve-centimeter bore of a Defiance Disintegrator.[14] Afterwards it was also modified a bit more by swapping some of his lasers to install a Large Pulse Laser.[15] No recordsheet and no BV (2.0) were ever generated for these variants.
