History[edit]
Valiant Systems produced civilian hover cars for most of its history. For the AFFS, it manufactured both armor and missile systems. Late in the Third Succession War, the company introduced the Striker tank with Wunderland Enterprises. From there the company branched out into other light combat vehicles. During the Clan Invasion, Valiant provided assistance to Scarborough Manufacturers on Al Na'ir. In return, the Draconis Combine company provided Valiant with a license to build the Pegasus hovertank.[1]
During the Jihad, both plants were affected. The Johnsondale facility lost forty percent of its capital and personnel, while the Robinson plant lost a quarter of its staff and facility. In 3079, Johnsondale plant was operating at 80% of its maximum yield, while Robinson facility was operating at 75% of its maximum capacity.[2] Valiant Systems benefited from the rebuilding efforts encouraged by Devlin Stone in the post-Jihad period; when the site of the destroyed Achernar BattleMechs plant on Achernar was redeveloped, Valiant Systems took on a part of the factory complex. The redevelopment on Achernar was highlighted in a news broadcast by Federated Suns journalist Peter Remonde on 15 August 3081 as an example of the wide-scale rebuilding which had already begun at the instigation of the allied coalition, even before the formation of the Republic of the Sphere. At the time of Remonde's broadcast, the Valiant Systems plant on Achernar was due to begin producing a range of industrial vehicles and the Fox armored car imminently, with plans already in motion to expand the production lines at the factory to also produce the Ranger Infantry Fighting Vehicle.[3]
