Sending an AFFS battlefleet into Kurita-held terrority in 2790 in the hope of destroying Combine naval forces to slow the offensive, Cholame was selected by taskforce commander Admiral Kenneth Jones as a rest and rendezvous point, unaware that the DMI had disastrously failed to discover that the Combine's own invasion armada had chosen Cholame as its own redoubt. As soon as Admiral Jones' fleet entered the system, Kuritan AeroSpace Fighters immediately attacked the shocked Davion forces with a group of Kuritan WarShips close behind.
