In the last years of the Star League, the world of Kirbyville was in the middle of a global ice age.[34]

Planetary History

Star League

During the years of the Star League, SLDF troops stationed on Stratford would routinely visit/garrison the Kirbyville system as needed.[35]

The Dark Age

In 3144 the Raven Alliance attacked and conquered Kirbyville and the nearby world of Sterlington using the forces of the Clan Snow Raven Beta Galaxy.[36] Beta Galaxy began the conquest of Kirbyville by deploying NL-45 Gunboats to seize or neutralize the manned satellites in orbit above Kirbyville, either by boarding the satellites with marines or firing on them directly. After the Raven Alliance ships entered orbit the Fifth Raven Stoop began to deploy planetside; at which point the local garrison, the Third Periphery Guard, then launched all of their AeroSpace Fighters with orders to engage the deploying Raven DropShips.[37]

The fighters of the Third Periphery Guard were outnumbered even before they began their attack, but the NL-45 Gunboats deployed by the Ravens further compounded the Third's woes; the ECM systems on the NL-45s forced the Third's fighters into having to engage at close range, while the Ravens suffered no such impediment. The Ravens were soon assured of aerospace superiority, and a second wave of Raven craft entered the atmosphere, this time consisting of Arcadia-class DropShips and more NL-45s. As the NL-45s dropped Battle Armor directly onto key locations in the planetary capital the Arcadias dropped their ProtoMechs against the Third on the ground.[37]
