Succession Wars

After the Second Succession War Principia became the seat of the Capellan judicial system after numerous raids on Sian convinced the judiciary to change locations. Present on Principia as a result were special judicial branches to dedicating to handling contractual dealings involving mercenary units in service to the Capellan Confederation.[1]

The warm and temperate climate of Principia was a big draw to members of the Capellan nobility, many of whom also owned holdings on the planet to allow them to maintain a home away from home.[1]

The Jihad

On the 7th of March 3071 Principia was targeted by raiders from the nearby Duchy of Andurien, although the attack ultimately failed.[10]

During their time stationed on Principia the Kraken Unleashed mercenary unit worked with the local shipwright industry to develop a new infantry capability for themselves: Submersible Mechanized Infantry. The Kraken Unleashed infantry made extensive use of locally-manufactured 20-ton Harpoon 5-man parasubmersibles, which were small enough to be transported aboard other transport vessels and rapidly redeployed anywhere onworld. This gave the Kraken Unleashed a new infantry force capable of repelling even a determined underwater BattleMech attack.[11]
