Waypoint
System Information
X:Y Coordinates-486.17 : 183.05[e]

The Waypoint system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as at 3145 was located in the Periphery nation known as the Rim Collection.[1][2]

System Description

The Waypoint system is located near the Beauvais and Solor systems.[3]

System History

The Waypoint system was either settled by the Rim Worlds Republic during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War, or was an already-settled system that became significant enough for Inner Sphere nations to begin recording it on maps during this period.[4][3]

Waypoint was one of the six worlds to join together to form the Rim Collection in 3048.[18] Over the next two decades the Collection fostered international trade with other regions, particularly after awarding a contract to ComStar for operating and maintaining the Collection's HPG stations. Goods from the Rim Collection were sold as far away as the Taurian Concordat, but the largest importer of agricultural products was the Abbey District within the Free Worlds League. Waypoint, Gillfillan's Gold and Slewis were the three largest exporters of agricultural products within the Collection, particularly luxury foodstuffs and artisanal grains, as well as livestock products. These products were also in demand in the Magistracy of Canopus, where "Waypoint Wheat" was particularly prized by the Canopian microbrewing industry for its nutty flavour.[31] In return, the Magistracy traded medical supplies and personnel with Waypoint and the other Collection worlds.[32]
