Xavier McCarron was the sixth commanding officer of the McCarron's Armored Cavalry Brigade.[1]

History[edit]

Early Career[edit]

Xavier was the son of Rhamses McCarron and the grandson of Archibald McCarron; due to his pedigree, he wanted to show that he could be the commander for the Armored Cavalry due to his skill and not just because of his birthright. In order to achieve his goal, Xavier enrolled at the Sarna Martial Academy where he excelled at his studies.[1]

He was too young to participate in the fighting with the newly formed Republic; he was later able to secure command of the 2nd McCarron's Armored Cavalry just in time for the Victoria War. During the war, Xavier was able to establish an impressive battle record by racking up an extraordinary amount of kills and was demonstrate his brilliance at strategic thinking.[1]

MAC Commander[edit]

His exemplary combat record made him the only serious candidate to take command of the whole McCarron's Armored Cavalry when the position became available in 3109.[4] Two years later, when the Capellan Crusades began in 3111, Xavier was able to quickly gain victories on multiple worlds until he met up against an impressive defense of Republic Armed Forces on the world of Kansu. His only failure of the war was his inability to break the defense when the truce was announced in 3113.[1]

Xavier personally groomed his eldest son, Cyrus McCarron, to succeed him as the commander of the MAC.[1]

In September 3149, after attempting to convince the Chancellor to not attack Terra, he had a private meeting with the Chancellor's daughter Danai Liao-Centrella in an attempt to win her support.[5]

Death and Legacy[edit]

In March 3151, following the MAC's defeat on Northwind, the Chancellor punished the unit by shaking up its leadership, which included the removal of Xavier from command of the MAC. When Xavier protested the decision, Chancellor Daoshen Liao raged and ordered him executed along with any other MAC officer who objected to the move. Xavier's son Cyrus didn't protest or attempt to save his father but instead offered himself as a replacement commander for the MAC. Daoshen refused, instead naming Danai Liao-Centrella as the new commander of the MAC, with Cyrus retaining his position in the MAC under Danai's command.[2]
