Description[edit]
The Heavy PPC is a larger, more potent version of the Particle Projector Cannon. The Heavy PPC has the same damage potential and heat buildup of a Clan ER PPC. However, it lacks the range of that weapon, as well as possessing greatly increased weight and bulk.[1]
Developed alongside the Light and Snub-Nose PPCs in 3067 by the Draconis Combine in the final months of the Second Star League, as part of a secret technology trade deal between the Combine and the Free Worlds League, one that Coordinator Theodore Kurita was apparently aware and even ordered it be shielded from the Star League Intelligence Command, the Heavy PPC had already begun to spread throughout the Inner Sphere as the Jihad broke out. Being used on both sides of the conflict with the Word of Blake would cement the utility of the Heavy PPC.[1]

Notes[edit]
- J:FR.^ ^ ^ Lopez is a dead or dying world as of 3081[88]
- DI.^ Per Shrapnel #10, "By 3110...Defiance stopped supplying components to what had become a competitor, forcing Nashan to cease production of the promising BattleMech."[21] So this 'Mech's Heavy PPC would have actually been manufactured by Defiance Industries, which had a plant on Furillo, and was known to have produced the Defiance 980 on Hesperus II.[22] Nashan thus only did final assembly using that component on their HL-1 Hel.
