The Kavalleri were originally a lightweight scouting and mobility brigade of regiments of the Free Rasalhague Republic's KungsArmé. After the Clan Invasion, they became a light strike force.
History[edit]
The Kavalleri regiments were formed as scouting formations for the Free Rasalhague Republic. They often used Commando and Panther 'Mechs.[1] They relied on speed, electronic warfare, and mobility rather than heavy weapons. Unfortunately, their lightweight 'Mechs were easily destroyed by Clan equipment, and two regiments of Kavalleri were destroyed.
Just after their inception, the Kavalleri were known for their quick rescue abilities when fellow KungsArmé units were unable to break free. They were the primary brigade for conducting raids, counter-raids, and reprisals so common to border worlds.[2] After the Truce of Tukayyid, the Kavalleri regiments focused on raids and fast strikes. They hit several Clan Wolf and Clan Ghost Bear controlled systems.[3]
During the early portion of the Jihad, the Republic would be under attack by the Word of Blake forces. After the Republic was rescued by an expedition from Clan Ghost Bear, the Republic was offered to join the Dominion, which they accepted. After the Republic's friendly annexation by the Ghost Bear Dominion, the Kavalleri regiments were reorganized into Clusters and formed Polar Galaxy.[4]
This process was only partially complete in 3076 when the survivors of Clan Ice Hellion started raiding Republic worlds. Kavalleri, Freemen, and Drakøn Clusters eventually drove the Hellions off of Holmsbu.[5]

Tactics[edit]
Each unit has its own tactics. However, in general, the Kavalleri are cavalry specialists that ride to the rescue of other KungsArmé units that cannot break contact with enemy forces. They also performed raiding, reconnaissance in force, and counter-raid missions.[2]
Units of the Kavalleri[edit]
At the onset of the Clan Invasion, the Kavalleri commands maintained two regemente of vehicles: one of VTOLs and the other fast wheeled and hovertanks to quickly strike at their foes.[2]

Color Scheme and Insignia[edit]
The Kavalleri, like most of the KungsArmé, did not exist long enough to develop any particular color scheme. When deployed in the field, they used whatever camouflage was appropriate. For formal occasions, the standard KungsArmé scheme was to paint their machines light blue with gray and red highlights.[7]
