Spectre was a Mercenary Commander of Spectre Lead and a Mechwarrior during the FedCom Civil War.

Description[edit]

Spectre was noted for being cocky in his youth as displayed to his lancemates in the field. He sponsored his unit with one of the renowned mercenary units before finding work in the Inner Sphere. Spectre met Castle for the first time as she introduced him to the command center of his soon-to-be base of operations. Spectre mostly did unaffiliated contracts throughout the Inner Sphere and also spend some time on the world of Solaris 7. As the FedCom Civil War escalated, Spectre had to make a choice to either serve House Steiner or House Davion, cementing his loyalty to one of the factions.[1]

I was twenty-seven the year that the FedCom Civil reached its boiling point. The media saw us as young gods, lords of war, striding the battlefield in our engines of destruction. The holo-vids captured our stories and spun them to the masses. For some, it was a time of terrible sacrifice and loss. For others, it was a time of great opportunity.
—Spectre explaining his life during the FedCom Civil War Era.

History[edit]

In 3067, Spectre would make a choice that changed him for the rest of his life as he narrated his story. Regardless of the fate he chose, he references about a "storm that will rise from Terra and sweep all before it.":

Bodyguard Duty[edit]

The history books claim it was Peter who took down the General of the Armies. Who were we to quibble over the credit? We were paid well for our part. We took up with the new Archon on a long-term security detail.
—Spectre narrating his life after Peter Steiner-Davion became the new Archon

After Spectre's successful performance on Tharkad he was called upon by Peter Steiner-Davion to join him in taking the Palace. Peter wanted his aunt, Nondi Steiner to stand down, and if she didn't she would die. After dealing with most of the guards, Spectre and his lance, along with Peter defeated Nondi Steiner. This action broke Katherine's hold on the Lyran Alliance and give him control of the planet Tharkad.

Clan Wolf Warrior[edit]

I was fully indoctrinated in the Clan Way and eager to restart the drive on Terra. Eager to make them all pay!
—Spectre narrating his life inside Clan Wolf

After Castle pleads to Spectre about joining Clan Wolf, she offered him an alternative to take a base on New Canton and disobey Rabid Fox. She also persuaded Spectre by pouring her heart out to him by reminding Spectre about how the Clans murdered her parents and not to undo all that he worked for. Spectre lets her words fall on deaf ears and proceeded to Carse where he would face five elite Mechwarriors from Clan Wolf. After successfully defeating the warriors, he became a warrior of Clan Wolf and took part in rescuing Katherine Steiner-Davion. He lives out the rest of his life in Clan Wolf doing Trials and combat to give him honor for his clan.

Griffon Base[edit]

In time, our reputation and firepower put us on par with any RCT in the Inner Sphere. Life was good, if only for a while.
—Spectre narrating his life after claiming Griffon Base

After Castle pleads to Spectre about joining Clan Wolf, she offers him an alternative to take a base on New Canton and disobey Rabid Fox. She also persuaded Spectre by pouring her heart out to him by reminding Spectre about how the Clans murdered her parents and not to undo all that he worked for. Spectre agrees to her advice and heads to New Canton, in which she tells him that he made the right decision. On the way, he found cooperation with the Stalwart Support mercenary unit, who were being attacked by House Liao's Harloc Raiders. During the battle, Spectre and his force encountered Wu Deng Tang and defeated his remaining forces. In the aftermath, capturing Griffon Base turned out to be a wise decision as the base gave Spectre's unit strength putting him on par with any Inner Sphere RCT unit.
