In 3057 the unit was named 1st Wolf Guards and was led by Khan Phelan Kell.[1]
The First Wolf Guardians was raised in 3058 from warriors of Clusters that survived the Refusal War but were disbanded. In their first action they prevented a mercenary unit hired by Ragnarok extremists from destroying the new Wolf-in-Exile Genetic Repository on Arc Royal. Preventing their retreat to their DropShips the First executed all they captured.[2] The Cluster rotated in posting away from Arc Royal, but was on planet in 3061 and 3067.[3][4]
The First were on Arc Royal in 3072 when the Word of Blake struck, taking heavy casualties.[5]
In 3079 the First was stationed on Grunwald.[5]

However, in Field Manual: Updates, Field Report: Clans and Field Manual: 3145 they are referred to as Guards. This is an error replicated with all Guardian Clusters, which is most easily seen with the confusion between Alpha Galaxy's Fourth wolf Guards and Omega Galaxy's Fourth Wolf Guardians.

The First Wolf Guardians gain a +1 to initiative when fighting the dark or with conditions that reduce visibility, such as rain or fog.[7]
