Prince of Havoc, by Michael A. Stackpole, is the seventh book in the Twilight of the Clans series.

The novel was made available on BattleCorps on 25 September 2010 as a PDF file (text only, without cover, pictures, or any other interior artwork except for the usual BattleCorps frame graphics). The PDF copy includes a disclaimer stating that it was created from a pre-final edition text that might differ from the printed version and that canon-wise, the print edition trumps the PDF edition.

Task Force Serpent has triumphed and Clan Smoke Jaguar is shattered beyond redemption. But the final battle is still to come, when Prince Victor Steiner-Davion braves the unknown and travels to the very heart of the Clans: Strana Mechty. Prince Victor left an Inner Sphere in united under a new Star League to battle the most dangerous foe the Inner Sphere has ever encountered: the Clans. But he also left behind his scheming sister Katrina Steiner, whose ambition knows no bounds. Task Force Serpent and Prince Victor believe that facing the Clans on their own homeworlds would prove the most difficult fight of their lives. They will soon learn that their fight has just begun.

Summary

Star League Defense Force units, under the command of Victor Steiner-Davion relieve the decimated ranks of Task Force Serpent on Huntress, then travel to Strana Mechty to challenge the Grand Council of the Clans to put an end to the invasion once and for all.

The SLDF and representatives of the Crusader Clans fight in what comes to be known as the Great Refusal. Clan Nova Cat, sides with the SLDF. The Great Refusal marks the final destruction of Clan Smoke Jaguar. The Star League forces are victorious, returning to the Inner Sphere and leaving elements of the Eridani Light Horse on Huntress as an embassy.

Victor returns to find that Katherine Steiner-Davion has effectively usurped the throne of the Federated Commonwealth. The second Whitting Conference is held, and Theodore Kurita is elected First Lord of the Star League.
