Bob,<br>

I'm a little confused. You're changing links for Hegemony Armed Forces to Terran Hegemony Armed Forces. However, the name of the armed forces of the Terran Hegemony prior to the formation of the Star League was the Hegemony Armed Forces - just like the armed forces of the Federated Suns was the Federated Peacekeeping Forces and then the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns. I'm not sure why you're making the change, because you're pointing the links away from the correct name. Are you perhaps under the impression that when Hegemony Armed Forces is being used as a link, it's being used as shorthand for the armed forces of the Terran Hegemony rather than as the actual name for the armed forces? The HAF was distinct from the closest armed forces with a similar name which are the Marian Hegemony Armed Forces, which specifically have the word "Marian" in the title, but the Hegemony Armed Forces never had the word "Terran" in the title. If a disambig page has been set up, then it's been created in error - we should have one page titled "Hegemony Armed Forces" with an otheruses tag to point to "Marian Hegemony Armed Forces". :Sorry, yes, I was following the disambiguation page, and it said that it had to be one or the other, not "Hegemony Armed Forces" itself. I'll go back through my contributions and correct it. Also, do you want to correct the current dismbig page (HAF) or should I? -BobTheZombie (talk) 06:15, 26 January 2015 (PST)

Hi BobTheZombie,
Hi Bob, in the Meridian article you changed "pre-arranged" into "per-arranged" as a spelling correction. I did mean to write pre-arranged though as I think it's the right word, and I don't know what per-arranged is/means. I am not a native speaker of english, however, so I wanted to ask before reverting this. Am I missing something? Frabby (talk) 00:16, 25 March 2015 (PDT)

:Yeah, that was my fault for rushing there; it should have been "pre". I need to stop blindly clicking suggestions... Thanks for the catch! -BobTheZombie (talk) 21:39, 26 March 2015 (PDT)

Do you know how the system maps are generated? All those images don't have a category and this makes the Uncategorized files not very useful as from the first 1000 thousand maybe 95% images as these ones. And I do not want to put them in a category as this might affect the "program" that generates them. Do you know who can help? Maybe when the image is generated it can be put in a category like "System Images". I'm asking more people, but do you have any idea?--Pserratv (talk) 10:40, 10 March 2021 (EST)

I saw you adding wikilinks into the dates in title articles.

Hey BobTheZombie, With Republic opening up soon, i want request to do couple up coming articles from the XTRO.

the way the wikilinks have been done has actually been done on purpose. It just appears a little messed up in articles where we do not have full lines of succession.
I really don't want race and compete with you or others to try put article in, do you mind me calling dibs on Castrum Pocket WarShip and Strix Stealth VTOL? == disambig - Why? ==

Ideally a chart would look like this, with no date being "double-linked".
Hello BobTheZombie.  Why are you changing all the articles with a shared name to disambig? Example Castum, i'm being specific in specifiying the Achilles DropShip.  Why confuse someone linking what they believe is a drop ship to a disambig page? That fine if someone to the search.  If article specific about something, the author made the link to go to the exactly that page, that seem harass the user with another hoop for them to dump through so to speak. -- Wrangler (talk) 10:58, 24 May 2015 (PDT)

:Sorry, but I was doing it the other way around (going from linking to the disambig to the correct article. All the achilles links I did changed it from the disambiguation page to the planet or dropship page, not the other way around, and Castrum is no exception. I don't think I was wrong in my edits, but please correct me if I messed up; thanks. -BobTheZombie (talk) 14:23, 24 May 2015 (PDT)

Hi Bob, I see and appreciate what you're doing with the image files. Since this clearly qualifies as "improving the visual aspects of BTW", and also since I feel we need to kickstart giving out awards to valued contributors again, I bestow upon you an Image Import Award. Thanks, and keep going! :) Frabby (talk) 06:00, 7 June 2015 (PDT)

Proofreading[edit]

Feel free to add any pages you want proofread or cleaned up to the bottom of this list and I will go through and clean them up.

Welcome[edit]

Welcome, BobTheZombie, to BattleTechWiki!

We look forward to your contributions and want to help you get off to a good strong start. Hopefully you will soon join the army of BattleTech Editors! If you need help formatting the pages, visit the manual of style. For general questions go to the Help section or the FAQ. If you can't find your answer there, please ask an Admin.

Additional tips
Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the wiki:

  • For policies and guidelines, see The Five Core Policies of BattleTechWiki and the BTW Policies. Another good place to check out is our market of Projects, to see how the smaller communities within BTW do things in their particular niche areas.
  • Each and every page (articles, policies, projects, images, etc.) has its very own discussion/talk page, found on the tab line at the top of the page. This is a great place to find out what the community is discussing along that subject and what previous issues have already been solved.
  • If you want to play around with your new wiki skills, the Sandbox is for you. Don't worry: you won't break anything. A great resource for printing out is the Wiki Cheat Sheet.
  • If you're not registered, then please consider doing so. At the very least, you'll have a UserPage that you own, rather than sharing one with the community.
  • Also consider writing something about yourself on your UserPage (marked as "BobTheZombie" at the top of the page, though only do this if you're registered). You'll go from being a 'redshirt' to a 'blueshirt,' with the respect of a more permanent member.
    • This is really helpful for the admins, as it gives your account that touch of "humanity" that assists us in our never-ending battle with spambots.
  • For your first few edits on the wiki, please do not add any URLs (which can be an indicator of SPAM).
  • Consider introducing yourself on our Discord server.
  • In your Preferences, under the edit tab, consider checking Add pages I create to my watchlist and Add pages I edit to my watchlist, so that you can see how your efforts have affected the community. Check back on following visits by clicking on watchlist.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random button in the sidebar, or check out the List of Wanted Pages. Or even go to Special Pages to see what weird stuff is actually tracked by this wiki.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the circled button in this image; this will automatically produce your name (or IP address, if you are editing anonymously) and the date.

Again, welcome to Sarna's BattleTechWiki!
