Planetary History

With the destruction of Alarion and the shipyards there, Gibbs was a critical industrial site for the Lyran Alliance during the late Jihad, as the shipyards here represented the Alliance's only JumpShip production facilities, as well as the only facilities capable of supporting the Alliance's diminished WarShip fleet.

Gibbs is a very dry world because its atmosphere is very thin and doesn't hold onto much water. Fortunately the industry is mostly located in orbit.
