Planetary History[edit]

Star League[edit]

Years Prior to the Periphery Uprising[edit]

Perdition served as the headquarters world of the LXV Corps of the Star League Defense Force. The center of operations was located at Fort Churchill. The Fort was the target of many rallies and protests throughout the years prior to the Periphery Uprising. However, the protests virtually disappeared in 2764 which led many Star League officers to believe something was about to happen.[37]

Periphery Uprising[edit]

The destruction of the 265th Heavy Assault Regiment on Perdition was the herald of the upcoming Periphery Uprising; a car visiting the 265th's base on 14 April 2765 contained a tactical nuclear weapon, which detonated at 1703 hours, vaporizing the base. Condemned as an atrocity by Commanding General Aleksandr Kerensky of the Star League Defense Force and the various nations of the Inner Sphere, the incident was greeted with jubilation on many Periphery worlds, behavior which proved the tipping point on many worlds. As firefights erupted between SLDF garrisons and local insurgents tempers throughout the Periphery reached melting point, and two days after the bombing of the 265th New Vandenberg and seventeen other Taurian worlds withdrew from the Star League in protest at the actions of the SLDF.[38]

The Jihad[edit]

During the last week of July 3075 the Federated Suns-employed mercenary unit Hansen's Roughriders subverted the mercenary garrison on Perdition, Longwood's Bluecoats, before raiding the world. The Roughriders razed the factory complexes on Perdition before departing.[39][40] Between the Roughriders' attack and subsequent raids by Word of Blake forces all of the industry on Perdition had been destroyed by 3081.[41] Despite losing all its manufacturing capabilities, in 3079 it became the host of the Perdition Taurian Academy.[1]

Military Deployment[edit]

Geography[edit]

Perdition is mostly made up of water and has three continents: Hel, Hades, and Purgatory.[1] The planet also has several islands, some of which supported manufacturing plants owned by Alphard Trading Corporation and Pinard Protectorates Limited until those factories were destroyed in 3075.[46][47][41][48]
