The Third Jaguar Cavaliers were a unit of Clan Smoke Jaguar's Delta Galaxy. They were also responsible for some of the most disturbing combat during the invasion.[1]

History
After losing Elementals in a napalm trap on Idlewild, the entire Cluster was ordered to find the dishonorable surats that set the trap. The search destroyed the capital city of the world and killed half the civilian population in three hours. When a Supernova Trinary faced off against the 5th Galedon Regulars on Jeronimo and was unable to break the DCMS lines, Star Colonel Moon called down a second Trinary. These reinforcements broke the Regular's lines and forced them to withdraw. Only a reinforced battalion of the Combine unit escaped.[1]
The Third Cavaliers did participate in the Battle of Luthien, but were unable to secure victory. As a result they garrisoned Hyner.[1] This unit did not take part in the battle on Tukayyid. Star Captain Trent was transferred to the Third Jaguar Cavaliers after Tukayyid.
During the years 3054 and 3055 they fought guerrillas on Hyner. The vicious behavior of Star Colonel Paul Moon led Trent to believe that Clan Smoke Jaguar had abandoned the high ideals of the Clans. In 3058 the Third unsuccessfully attacked Matamoras. Trent used this opportunity to defect to ComStar.
Operation Bulldog
The Third was the garrisoning force on Hyner at the start of Operation Bulldog. As part of Operation Bird Dog, Rubinsky's Renegades landed on Hyner and began harrassing the Third Jaguar Cavaliers.[2] During Wave One of Bulldog, the planet was attacked by the DCMS's Second Sword of Light, FWLM's 1st Regulan Hussars and the Com Guard 9th and 208th Divisions. Unprepared, the Third was unable to hold the planet.
The Third was subsequently destroyed in 3059. Star Colonel Paul Moon was extracted from the battlefield against his will saved by medical personnel.

As of 3060 the commanding officer was Star Colonel Paul Moon.
