Planetary History[edit]

Succession Wars[edit]

During the First Succession War, a Lyran attack destroyed the city of Quantico.[29]

Clan Invasion[edit]

Hyner was conquered by Clan Smoke Jaguar during the Fifth Wave of Operation REVIVAL in November 3051. Loremaster Edmund Hoyt personally led the First Striker Cluster in the attack, dropping through heavy cloud cover to immediately engage the Second Arkab Legion at Trent's Glen. They were startled to find that an entire battalion of their enemy's forces were piloting Star League-era BattleMechs and the Arkab Legion's use of hit-and-run attacks was slowly whittling them down. Eventually the Jaguars fought clear of the glen and turned to engage the Legion en masse. The implacable fury of the Smoke Jaguars eventually forced the Second Arkab's lines to break, with over half of the Legionnaires retreating back through the wooded glen. Although further battles were fought at Wessen and the Binar Heights the Legion was eventually able to give their pursuers the slip and escape off-world during a brilliant midnight operation.[30][31]

A low-level guerrilla operation persisted on the occupied world, coming to a boil in 3054 when Trent discovered it was being led by members of the Arkab Legion who hadn't retreated. Calling themselves the "Kat Killer Five" they attempted to ambush the garrison troops but were foiled by Trent. Subsequently, under the orders of Paul Moon the cities of Beaver Falls and Kimota were annihilated for their support of the insurgents. Trent soon discovered the Kat Killers' base and set an ambush for them, killing them to the last. It did not stop the slaughter as Trent had hoped, Moon ordered the city of Chinn to be destroyed as well.[29]

Operation BULLDOG[edit]

Hyner was invaded in the first wave of Operation BULLDOG by the Second Sword of Light,[32] the First Regulan Hussars and the Com Guard Ninth and 208th Divisions. The defenders, the Third Jaguar Cavaliers, were unprepared and lost the planet.[33]
