MechWarrior Kyle Wolf was a MechWarrior, and member of the Steel Wolves and Wolf Hunters, during the Dark Age Era.[1]

Personal Appearance[edit]

Kyle had blond hair and gray eyes.[1]

History[edit]

Steel Wolves[edit]

Kyle was a freeborn member of Clan Wolf, who committed the trespass in Clan society of living past the age of 30 without a bloodname, becoming somewhat of a pariah as a result. Sheer determination and battle prowess however allowed him to maintain his position as a MechWarrior in the Steel Wolves' Crusaders Cluster despite Trial after Trial waged to remove him, as a member of a recon Star.

The physical toll of these challenges however harmed his abilities in combat, denying him an assignment to a proper BattleMech, and perhaps signaling his warrior career was coming near its end by 3132.[1]

Kyle's service with the Steel Wolves included fighting the Swordsworn on Acamar, the Northwind Highlanders on Northwind, the Republic of the Sphere on Terra and Clan Jade Falcon on Skye.[2]

Wolf Hunters[edit]

In 3135, Kyle was with the Steel Wolves on Galatea, and took part in the Trials conducted by Anastasia Kerensky. His accuracy with small arms during these trials was noted by observers, with Kyle putting 100 shots into a bull's eye at a range of 80 meters.

During Anastasia Kerensky's inspections of the Steel Wolves at this time, she questioned Star Colonel Varnoff Fetladral about why Kyle was only assigned an IndustrialMech, receiving the response that it was due to his age. Kerensky responded that due to his exemplary service, including personally defeating a Jade Falcon Demon on Skye while with Kerensky herself, he was to be assigned one of the new BattleMechs she had obtained.

Her initial intent was to provide him with a HVC-P5 Havoc[2], but with the MechWarriors who left on the formation of Anastasia Kerensky's mercenary Wolf Hunters, a broader selection of 'Mechs became available[3], leading him to take a heavier Warwolf instead as he joined the Wolf Hunters himself.[4]

Tactics[edit]

Kyle usually applied overcautious tactics, which gave way to berserker rage at short range.[1]

BattleMech[edit]

Kyle was known to have piloted an AgroMech Mk II, nicknamed "Vindicator". This 'Mech, serial number IMC-02068/1, had many scars remaining from its past campaigns due to its low priority on the Steel Wolves' repair schedule.[1]

He was however later assigned a real BattleMech, a WRW-LF-H Warwolf, which he called "Vindication".[4]
