Planetary History

First Succession War

Potwin was invaded during the first half of the major invasion into the Federated Suns launched by the Draconis Combine in May 2787.[8] Potwin was liberated by the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns in 2810 as part of the second major AFFS counter-offensive of the First Succession War against the Draconis Combine.[10]

The Jihad

In early April 3080 Potwin became a grim symbol of the anti-bionics feelings becoming prominent throughout the Inner Sphere in the wake of the Jihad when Shizue Pauletta, a former armored infantryman with the AFFS, was murdered by a mob because of the artificial limbs he had received following injuries sustained in Operation SCOUR. This hate crime highlighted just how common prejudice against visible bionics had become in a relatively short period of time even in areas with no noticeable prejudice prior to the Jihad.[34]
