Later this time period was known as the "Famine Years". To feed their citizens, a group of senators on the world formed a syndicate that sent trade missions to nearby systems. After meeting representatives of the Helena Collective on Ingvolstand, Rondane secured a long-term agreement to receive food and water in exchange for livestock and exotic minerals. The syndicate officially took control of the world and brokered a mutual defense pact with the Helena Collective.
