MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries/Cantinas

Overview[edit]

A key feature of MechWarrior 5: Heroes of the Inner Sphere, Cantinas are bars where the player can find employers looking to hire for some off-the-books jobs. Completing jobs earns C-bills, equipment, Outlaws and Company Reputation, and advances progress in the Career Path system. As each level is unlocked, the player is provided Upgrade Blueprints for use on BattleMechs to improve their abilities.

Cantinas are found in every Industrial Hub and Conflict Zone. They become available starting at Reputation 4, after being connected to the Fixers by Richard Markson, Nikolai Mason's old friend. Once accepted, the jobs never expire and can be completed over any length of time, remaining active unless deliberately abandoned. There is no penalty for canceling a job.

Notes:

  • Each 'Mech has a predetermined number of Upgrade Slots available. The corresponding column in the tables below indicates how much space is used by installing each Blueprint.
  • The C-bill cost is based on the refit of a 100-ton BattleMech. A 20-ton 'Mech will pay 30% of the listed figure with the fee incrementally higher as the tonnage increases.
