History
The Homeworld of the 6th Syrtis Fusiliers is Hadnall.[citation needed]
During the FedCom Civil War the Sixth Fusiliers were assigned to Kathil. There they kept fighting during the entire Civil War, refusing to let Allied or Loyalist forces take control of the vital factories. They took heavy losses, as did every unit assigned to the Kathil fighting. Several Davion Sunbursts of Gallantry and dozens of Syrtis Medals of Valor were received by members of the Sixth.[1] After the fighting on Kathil during the FedCom Civil War ended, the survivors of the Kathil CMM and 1st Capellan Dragoons were drafted into the Sixth Fusiliers.[2]
The Sixth garrisoned New Syrtis in 3067.[3]
As part of Operation SOVEREIGN JUSTICE the Sixth reinforced the Illician Lancers at Hexare. They fought Paget's Dragoons on the world, and though they fought well, the collapse of other aspects of SOVEREIGN JUSTICE forced the two units to leave the world to the Capellan Confederation.[4] In 3085 the Sixth was the most experienced Syrtis Fusiliers unit, and served as the honor guard on New Syrtis.[5]
The Sixth assaulted Victoria during the Dark Age. They faced the 5th Capellan Defense Force. A surprise assault by a platoon of CCAF Predator tank destroyers inflicted heavy losses on one of the Sixth's cavalry battalions, destroying nearly half the unit.[6] During that same conflict, Warrior House Kamata took advantage of a gap between the Sixth and the 42nd Avalon Hussars to hit both AFFS units in the flanks and then withdraw before they could react.[7]
