History[edit]

The Third Wolf Guard Battle was formed in 3059 from new Trueborn fresh from their Trials of Positions. Command of the new cluster was given to Star Colonel Magarite Vickers, despite her amusement at the prospect of such a young clusters and the warriors she called her "children." For the first few years of the Third's existence it relied heavily on drawing warriors from the Sixth Wolf Regulars of Iota Galaxy for experience,[2] but this practice had decreased by 3062.[3] In 3059 the Cluster was stationed on the world of Suk II.[4] They remained on Suk II in 3067.[5]

In one of the cluster's first actions they defeated a Star from the Third Bear Guards and won a pair of Kodiak 'Mechs.[3]

In 3067, the Third was still stationed on Suk II.[6]

As of 3079, the Third Wolf Guard Battle Cluster was stationed on the world of Memmingen,[1] and it was still on the planet in 3085.[7]

During the Wolf Clan's assault into the Republic of the Sphere, the Third Cluster was instrumental in taking Corridan IV. They later participated in Operation HAMMERFALL, and were responsible for conquering Kirkenlaard and Tongatapu.[8]

In 3145, the Third Wolf Guards Battle Cluster landed on Hesperus II to face forces from Clan Jade Falcon and Clan Hell's Horses, spearheading their Clan's assault at the Battle of Hesperus II. After fighting for nearly two months and stalling the Falcons and Horses at every turn, they were forced off the planet when the LCAF sent a large task force to the planet.[9]

In 3145, the cluster held a garrison position on the world of Zosma.[10]

In March 3150 the Third was dispatched to Castor along with the Fourth Wolf Guards and the Golden Keshik. There the unit sustained considerable losses at the hands of the Fifth Fides before the Republic troops were driven off-world. [11]
