Alexis Zarnofsky was a female freeborn, former sibkin of the Clan Ghost Bear and later full fledged warrior of the Clan Jade Falcon Remnants.

History[edit]

Early Life[edit]

Alexis was born probably on Quarell, on the Rasalhague Dominion, in an unknown date. She must have lost her fathers, as eventually ended living on the streets. On 3144, she had between eight to twelve years and was member of a small gang of little kids living from small thefts on the city of Antimony, where Alexis proved to be the best carterist. The 8 September, Tova, the group leader, choose a Ghost Bear Star Colonel and sent Alexis to steal her wallet. It proved to be a mistake: the Bear, literally, as she was huge, Aoi Bekker, discovered Alexis and catch her hand. She didn't hurt the children, but refused to let her go. Alexis' group had promised to come to her help, but instead they left her alone, which hurt deeply the young one. Bekker took her to a social worker office, giving her a plate of biscuits. Despite Alexis determination to don't touch them, she eat them all. Aoi later offered her a place in the Ghost Bears' touman and a place into a family, taking her to a sibko training facility. Alexis, proudly, sweard than she will became a MechWarrior. Once in the sibko, Alexis meet his new family. One of the young ones, Daniel (Quarell), proved to be openly hostile, but two other, Thomasin and Sophie, were much more friendly.[1]

IlClan era[edit]

The 7 July 3151, Alexis led her Star, piloting a Bear Cub training 'Mech into a simulated battle against a Kodiak piloted by Daniel, distracting him to allow Thomasin and Sophie to attack his back. The strategy succeeded, though Alexis was killed the first. After the exercise, all cadets participated into the Vote Day, to decide if join the Star League or not.[2]

In another training exercise, under the rain, she didn't jump into the fight as everybody, but stay away until she knew how to reach the target, a flag, delivering it to the Den Mother Ivankova, but then, Daniel attacked her by her back, making her fall into the mud, and the Den Mother prevented Alexis to punish him. The 12 September, Daniel attempted to frame Alexis placing his codex into her footlocker, but only managed to get both punished. After Alexis was released, a day later, Thomasin knocked him out for what he had done to her.[3]

The 10 October, a great cross-training series of exercises began on Quarell, and Alexis was chosen by Star Commander Diego to led their group, to Daniel's surprise. Alexis' strategy almost led her sibko top victory, with Daniel being the only giving problems, and the victory wasn't achieved only for his indiscipline.[4]

The next exercise, the 26 October, was an infiltration one in a delta. Once again, Daniel refused to obey her orders, and took several sibkins. Alexis took the rest and won the exercise using cunning tactics, winning easily. Days later, their sibko faced another field exercise, these piloting real 'Mechs, the 6 November. Their mission was to protect a town, Feldspar, against an attack. Alexis prepared a solid defense plan... but Daniel's disobedience made harder the defense, which resulted and both forces having the same points. The question remained unsolved, as a group of Clan Jade Falcon Remnants led by Khan Jiyi Chistu arrived on system, declaring a Trial of Possession for all cadets participating on exercises.[5]

Alexis and her friends didn't want to be taken, so they enlisted Daniel's help to allow her to escape and attempt to declare a Trial of Refusal against the Trial of Possession, but Colonel Emilio Hall didn't acknowledge their Trial. All involved cadets were arrested and washed out from the Clan, with all insignias taken off, which hurt deeply Alexis and Daniel.[6]

The 8 November, all cadets were delivered to the Falcons. When Thomasin and Daniel resisted, they were separated from the rest. Alexis worried about them, but Star Commander Dawn (Clan Jade Falcon) reassured her. Once in orbit, after the Falcons faced an attack from the Bears, Khan Chistu meet with the cadets, asking for the one which had defied him. Alexis, reluctantly, presented herself, but Jiyi not only didn't chastise her, but congratulated her for her bravery, making the prediction than she will be a great warrior and even maybe began a Bloodline, despite being Freeborn. She felt proud to hear that.[7]

Once in Sudeten, Alexis reunited with Thomasin and Daniel, and Dawn welcomed her into their new family. Alexis assisted, the 9 January 3152, to Daniel' Trial of Position. When the first was fighting, Dawn asked Alexis' opinion about the fight. When Daniel won barely the rank of Warrior, Dawn congratulated him, but also told him than he would have made better. Alexis was the next one. Her first opponent, a Rifleman, proved to be a cunning opponent, eluding her in a labyrinth, damaging her 'Mech, but she charged him and managed to down the first opponent. His 'Mech was seriously damaged, but she continued, facing the second opponent, a Phoenix Hawk IIC. His pilot was too cunning, but eventually both faced in a frontal fight, and she unleashed all her weapons on her opponent, which downed her. To her surprise, after leaving the simulator, everybody was applauding and congratulating her, even Daniel, which was very proud of her. Alexis' last shoots, before dying, had killed the Phoenix Hawk pilot. Alexis had won the rank of Star Commander. Dawn gave the young one an embrace. Khan Chistu personally congratulated her, and ordered Dawn to give Alexis a Turkina as 'Mech, and to let her choose the warriors in her Star.[8]

BattleMech[edit]

Alexis', with the Ghost Bears, piloted a Bear Cub and a Grizzly. Her Mech in the simulator during her Trial of Position was a Savage Wolf, but Chistu later gave her a Turkina which she probably named Ghostbird.[9]
