Originally designed by Clan Smoke Jaguar under the designation Charybdis in the late 3040s, Clan Smoke Jaguar engineers awaited the results of battle with the Inner Sphere before finalizing the specifications. The class was renamed mid-REVIVAL in honor of the legendary Inner Sphere aerospace fighter pilot Tyra Miraborg, whose kamikaze run on the Clan Wolf flagship Dire Wolf stalled the Clan invasion and killed the Smoke Jaguar ilKhan Leo Showers. The class was launched from Huntress shipyards in 3053 and saw action against the Draconis Combine in the ongoing defense of Matabushi Yards at Avon.
