Lethal Heritage, by Michael A. Stackpole, is the first book in the Blood of Kerensky trilogy.

“ In the late 28th century, the Star League collapsed and the Five Successor States were born. For the last three hundred years, these mortal enemies have fought over space, land, and politics, but now a new threat looms just outside the Inner Sphere. The descendants of an old Star League general—the Clans—have come to take what they believe to be rightly theirs. They have been bred into the best military force humanity has ever seen. The Clans have come to stay, and the Successor States must put aside their differences or face total destruction. ”

Summary[edit]

The Clans invade the Inner Sphere. The Federated Commonwealth defeats Clan Jade Falcon on Twycross using Victor Steiner-Davion's battle strategy and Kai Allard-Liao's heroics at the Great Gash. The Draconis Combine defeats Clan Smoke Jaguar on Wolcott, gaining Clan 'Mechs and Elemental armor. Phelan Kell is captured by Clan Wolf, eventually being adopted into the clan. IlKhan Leo Showers, leader of the invasion, is killed. Wolf's Dragoons call a summit on Outreach to deal with the Clans.

A German edition, translated by Reinhold H. Mai, was published by Heyne in 1992 as Tödliches Erbe (ISBN 9783453053908).[2] The book had several printings, including a seventh printing in 1995 under the same ISBN.[3] This was republished as an EPUB by Ulisses Spiele in 2017 as BattleTech Legenden 10 - Das Blut der Kerensky : Tödliches Erbe (ISBN 9783957526090).[4]

Hungarian[edit]

A Hungarian edition, translated by Tóth Judit, was published by Beholder in 1997 as Halálos örökség.[5] A second edition was published in 2005.[6]

Russian[edit]

A Russian edition, translated by A. Zherebtsov, was published by Армада (Armada) in 1997 as Смертоносное наследство (ISBN 5763204344). [7][8]
