Description

The Skulker is the much larger cousin of the Swift Wind scout car and originally based on the Heavy APC design. Due to it being larger than any scout car, it can act as a mobile communication outpost. With its advanced sensor suite which is tied to both its communication and targeting systems, it can navigate with only its sensors. While hot environments would normally wreak havoc upon its advanced electronics, the heat sinks from its medium laser cool the sensors while the laser is not in use. This allows it to operate in even the hottest environments where other scout vehicles cannot. The Skulker comes with four and a half tons of armor as standard.

Weapons and Equipment

Being primarily a scout vehicle, the Skulker mounts only one Standard Systems medium laser should the need for combat arise. This also allows it to operate for extended periods of time without worrying about ammunition.

Variants

  • Skulker (SRM)
This simple variant introduced in 2901 switches out the medium laser and replaces it with an SRM-4 replete with two tons of ammunition. However due to the loss of the heat sinks that came with the medium laser, this version sacrifices its ability to operate in extremely hot environments. BV (2.0) = 319
  • Skulker (MG)
This 2897 variant replaces the medium laser with two Machine Guns and a two-ton infantry bay. BV (2.0) = 252[2]
  • Skulker (C3M)
This variant, developed during the Jihad, carries no weapons of any sort. Instead it provides combat targeting coordination via a C3 master computer. After installing the master, engineers added more armor protection.[3] BV (2.0) = 230[4]

Custom Variants

  • X-5 Skulker
This model installs a fusion engine, exchanges the medium laser for an ER model and mounts cutting-edge electronics to aid in its scout role. It has a top speed of 120 km/h. BV (2.0) = 491[7]

Design Quirks

The Skulker Mk. II variant is subject of the following Design Quirks:[5]

Notes

  • In German products, the unit's proper name was altered to Kröte, which translates as Toad.
