Planetary History[edit]

The Star League[edit]

During the Star League era, Star League Defense Force troops would form part of the honor guard for the ruling family of the Principality of Regulus. This caused some tension with the local Regulan Hussars troops, but was appreciated by the ruling Cameron-Jones family.[37]

The Jihad[edit]

On 6 June 3072, Regulus City was set ablaze by the Forty-ninth Shadow Division; the Word of Blake unit surprised the planetary defenders when they executed an unexpected combat drop into the center of the city before setting the city on fire.[38][39] The Eagle-class frigate FWLS Leodegrance was also destroyed in the Regulus system by the Blakists in 3072,[40] and the Fiftieth Shadow Division then visited Regulus on 30 March 3076,[41][42] transported by the Thera-class carrier FWLS Corinth and her attendant DropShips, to deliver Precentor Manei Domini Apollyon and his stark warning from The Master to Prince Titus Cameron-Jones regarding what Apollyon termed "military adventurism."[41][42][43] Colonel Michelle Cameron-Jones—commanding officer of the First Regulan Hussars and wife of Prince Titus—arranged an ambush on the ground intended to kill the Blakist forces, using concealed commandos with a regiment of artillery in reserve; Apollyon's Manei Domini bodyguards included Nephilim battle armor troops who disrupted the ambush, killing the commandos and injuring Prince Titus as an object lesson.[43]

On 15 July 3077, it was reported that the Third Free Worlds Guards had arrived on Regulus to pledge their collective loyalty to the Principality of Regulus. This move was met with some skepticism by the press due to the very real concern that the arrival of the Third Guards was an attempt by the Word of Blake to gain an operational presence within the Principality, as seemed likely given that the Third Guards had last been reported to be on Wing fighting on behalf of the Blakists against Devlin Stone's allied coalition forces. However, as stated by General Thomas Orfelt, the Principality couldn't turn its back on fellow countrymen if the Third Guards were genuine in their desire to defect to the Principality.[44]

Geography[edit]

Regulus has two continents named Tabar and Tinnin.[34] Regulus is a warm planet with several large agricultural complexes and cities spread across its tropical equator and temperate portions of the hemispheres. Mostly spared the ravages of the Succession Wars, the "Night of Fire" during the Jihad scarred the planet, though even these were mostly erased by 3079.[34][28]
