Formation

Fourth Succession War

The Second Genyosha hadn't been formed in time to participate in the Fourth Succession War.

War of 3039

Ronin Wars

Clan Invasion

The unit was stationed on world of Moore in the Dieron Military District as of 3050. [1]

Only one battalion remained of the regiment following the Clan Invasion. The unit was removed from active duty to rebuild and retrain to elite status. The 2nd returned to active duty in 3057.[citation needed]

Operation Bulldog

Under the command of Kai Allard-Liao for the first wave of Operation Bulldog, the Second Genyosha attacked Tarazed alongside the 1st St. Ives Lancers and the 3rd Donegal Guards RCT. [2] The SLDF forces received safcon from the defending 7th Jaguar Dragoons, and promptly destroyed the Dragoons in the Krycheck Mountain range.[3] They then functioned as the garrison for Tarazed for the rest of Operation Bulldog. [4]

Dominion War

To stall the Ghost Bear advance the Second Genyosha struck Ardoz. This forced the Bears to pull several front line Clusters from the front lines to track down the Genyosha.[2]

Federated Suns Incursion

Shortly after the Ghost Bear war ended, the Second Genyosha arrived on the Federated Suns border. There they joined forces with the 16th Galedon Regulars to recapture Marduk from the Suns. After that was complete the Genyosha captured Breed.[2]

Jihad

In 3067 the Second Genyosha were stationed on Benjamin.[5] They redeployed to Irurzun in 3068, just in time for the Black Dragon Society to launch a coup. The Second was briefly put out of action by a strike from Black Dragon-sponsored militia units, but after a six month long guerrilla campaign the Second returned the world to the Dragon's embrace.[6] In 3075 they joined Operation SCOUR as part of the DCMS contribution to that multi-national force.[7] One of their first actions was to liberate Asta, a planet with many Word of Blake prison camps. Among the many prisoners of war, the Second found Andrew Redburn, captured in the Blakist assault on Tukkayid.[8] Later, the Second Genyosha broke the bloody stalemate on Fomalhaut, liberating the world from the Blakists.[9] During the assault on Terra the Second Genyosha was assigned to liberate Tokyo. They fought alongside the 1st Crucis Lancers and 23rd Arcturan Guards.[10]

The Second remained in the Tokyo area for most of their stay on Terra. Persistent rumors suggest that they "liberated" several historical artifacts with special meaning to the Kurita family.[6]

Officers

From 3050 to 3059, the commanding officer was Tai-sa Laura Nelson[11][12]. She was still in command in 3067.[5]

Tactics

The 2nd Genyosha excels at defensive tactics, leading with its slow heavy and assault machines and committing the rest of its forces as reinforcements. Artillery is saved to cover retreats.[12]
