System Description
The Ferris system is located near The Rock and the Taran's World system.[1][2]
System History
The Ferris system was either colonised during the Succession Wars or was an already-inhabited system that became significant enough to be recorded on maps by Inner Sphere nations at some point during this era.[3][4][5]

Planetary History
Operation REVIVAL
At the start of the Clan Invasion in August 3049 Ferris came under attack by Clan Wolf. The defending Ferris Guards, two BattleMech lances and a regiment of mechanized infantry, fought against the 328th Assault Cluster of Alpha Galaxy at the Canbridge Wells. While the Ferris 'Mechs were quickly destroyed, their infantry scattered into the Gosin Downs and used their knowledge of the terrain to continue resisting for a week.[29]
Dark Age
In 3082 the population was tired of being ignored by Clan Hell's Horses and demanded more attention. The planet's population rioted and nearly killed every member of the Epsilon Galaxy Command unit. In response, the Hell's Horses withdrew from the world, leaving it to starve.[30] The citizens of Ferris rebelled against the Horses in 3083. Four years later, it became the capital world of the Ferris Collective, a group of Periphery systems that had been abandoned by the Horses.[31] They were quickly enmeshed in a need to colonize the Elysian Fields, a group of nearby systems. This stretched their resources to the breaking point and put a serious strain on the Ferris system.[32] By 3130 Ferris had become a part of the region known as The Barrens.[5][19]
