Planetary History
Dark Age
Mandalas was colonized by the Fronc Reaches as part of a colonization program that began in 3099 following a boom in the economy of the Reaches as a result of domestic and foreign policy changes by President Elaine Hadley that saw rapid growth in the domestic military-industrial sectors of the economy. By 3120 Mandalas and two nearby worlds colonized as part of the same program, Appian and Tincalunas, had reached a point where they were self-sustaining agriculturally, and by 3135 each was contributing to the overall gross domestic product of the Reaches through agricultural surpluses, mining and trade. The settlers on Mandalas originated from a mix of independent and Capellan Confederation worlds.[3]
At some point prior to 3150 the Mandalas-based manufacturing company Simcox Industrials licensed the design specifications for the JL-1 Raider BattleMech from Bannson Universal Unlimited and begun manufacturing their own design based on the Raider.[27]
