History[edit]
Formation[edit]
The Fourth was formed in the early twenty-sixth century. In 2765, they were stationed on Arkab and specialized in fast raids against static targets.[1]

War of 3039[edit]
As part of the Draconis Combine counterattack, the Fourth Arkab Legion left Trolloc Prime and raided the Lyran worlds of Ganshoren, Auldhouse, and Arcturus. This strike threatened the supply lines for the Commonwealth thrust into the Combine and forced the LCAF to redeploy troops to defend against these deep strikes.[3] After this raid they redeployed to Camlann.[4]

Clan Invasion[edit]
As of early 3050, the unit was stationed on Camlann.[5]
The Legion fought the Ghost Bears' 115th Striker Cluster on Eguilles in 3052. This was a unique combat because the two units both specialized in fast cavalry style tactics.[6] Both sides on this battle took heavy losses, but the Clan took control of the planet. The Fourth Arkab Legion was able to force the 115th back to their landing zone however, and killed Star Colonel Romano Tseng, the 115th's commander.[6] Tai-sa Kosiridam gave up command of the regiment for this failure, demoting himself to the executive officer position.[7]
Operation Bulldog[edit]
During Operation Bulldog the Fourth Arkab Legion defended Lonaconing from counterattacking Smoke Jaguar forces.[8] With some minor support from the Fifteenth Lyran Guards the Fourth Arkab Legion was able to hold off the Jaguar's Twenty-seventh Garrison Cluster[9] until the Smoke Jaguar Khans ordered withdrawal. Despite the Fourth's best efforts nearly all the Twenty-seventh Cluster escaped.[10]
Dominion War[edit]
The Fourth tried to save the Forty-fourth Dieron Regulars on Najha, but arrived too late. They did manage to hold off Clan Ghost Bear forces for the remainder of the conflict.[8]
Federated Suns Incursion[edit]

Jihad[edit]
On 12 February 3071, several asteroids struck Arkab.[11] The Fourth Arkab Legion left their duty station and returned to Algedi to assist in humanitarian relief efforts on the Azami worlds.[12] The Fourth only took this action after the Arkab leadership wasn't able to get any help from the Draconis Combine leadership. Kanrei Kiyomori Minamoto sent several demands and threats to the Fourth Legion and all Arkab leaders, but the Legions refused to leave their homeworlds.
In 3079, the Fourth Legion had stationed its forces on Rukbat and Shitara.[13]
Republic Era[edit]
After the Jihad, the Fourth Legion accepted a post to Shinoha, near the Lyran Commonwealth and The Republic of the Sphere. This posting is close enough to the Azami worlds in the Republic to calm any fears the Azami of Algedi may have. If not for this, the Fourth would request reassignment to their homeworld to continue rebuilding the world.[14]
Dark Age[edit]
As of 3145, the Fourth returned to Algedi to replenish their minor losses from new graduates from the Algedi War College. The Fourth had given its consent to move to the front lines of the invasion of the Federated Suns, however no timetable had been given for this action.[15]
Officers[edit]
Rank | Name | Command | |
---|---|---|---|
Commanding Officers of the Fourth Arkab Legion | |||

Tactics[edit]
The Fourth has a fair number of heavy 'Mechs on its roster. They use the lighter machines to lure the enemy into a trap, then offer a standing fight with the heavies while the lighter 'Mechs harass their enemies' flank.[7]
In 3025 the unit specializes in reconnaissance.[21]

Color Schemes and Insignia[edit]
The brigade paint scheme for the Arkab Legions is desert tan and dark green. Given the mutual distrust, the three Arkab Legions are not required to show the crest of the Draconis Combine, though the tai-sa of a Legion paints the Kurita Dragon on the upper left arm of their 'Mech. This Draconis crest is removed in times of withheld support from the Combine until amends are made. The insignia of the Arkab Legions is a six-pointed star against a half-yellow and half-black background.[21][2][25]
The Fourth Legion's insignia is a bloody scimitar with gold tassels hanging from the hilt on a field of gold and white rays.[2][7][26]
