Marcel Webb was the commanding officer of the Star Seeds mercenary group. Many assumed that the name Marcel Webb was a false identity; he was in fact Sergeant Frederick Zhil, a former DEST operative.[4]
History[edit]
Marcel Webb[edit]
The man known as Marcel Webb appeared one June day in 3068 at the Galatea hiring hall to register an infantry-only mercenary unit, the Star Seeds. He declared no debts and immediately signed a contract with Interstellar Expeditions. Webb then faded from view though rumors of him and the Star Seeds placed him on Tomans, supposedly caught in a struggle between Clan Jade Falcon and the Green Ghosts that allegedly resulted in the capture of a Ghost Overlord-class DropShip.[5]
After the contract with Interstellar Expeditions expired in January 3070, Webb signed on with an unknown party which saw his unit on Orestes and capturing the Word of Blake Star Lord-class JumpShip Yoke of Purity and another unknown DropShip.[5]
In 3071 Webb was sighted on Galatea with a known Loki agent Hauptmann Belinda Joseé.[5]
On 11 May 3073 Webb and his unit were on Arcturus as part of Chandrasekhar Kurita's coalition when Blakist forces attacked. Two traitors within the Star Seeds–Geri Krantz and Eddie–destroyed the Union-class DropShip of the Periphery Star Guard, leaving few survivors. Webb executed the ROM agents personally and blamed himself for not detecting the infiltration.[6]
Sometime around 3075 Webb became Head of Security for Hachiman Taro Electronics and Chandrasekhar Kurita (and later Devlin Stone's Coalition). Webb compiled a report in 3077 for David Lear. In this report Webb thanked Lear for retaining the Star Seeds' contract following the 15 February 3076 assassination of "Uncle Chandy."[7][8]
Webb was nearly assassinated on 13 June 3078 at the Coalition headquarters on Altair, though he might not have been the intended target. Devlin Stone's bodyguard Pedro stepped into the line of fire and shot the assassin twice, though he received fatal wounds.[9]
On 18 August 3078, Webb led an all infantry assault on Luna with six squads of Star Seeds battle armor, eight DEST squads and six Stars each from Clan Wolf and Clan Jade Falcon. After a few hours of brutal fighting and over fifty percent Allied casualties, Webb's forces were in control of Luna Support Base.[10][11][12]
Battle Armor[edit]
Webb was adept at using many varieties of Inner Sphere and captured Clan battle armor, but he seemed to prefer the Raiden over others.[3][1]
