**Seconded for generally setting standards regarding article quality. I wouldn't suggest him for any one particular article because we have the Good/Superior Article Awards for that. The Founder's Awards should consider the width and breadth of a contributor's work and CW101 clearly stands out as a shining example of how the perfect BTW contributor should be. 2011 Nominations

Please post your nominations for the various Founder's awards here for discussion. Post not only the Editor's or Admin's name, but also why you feel that person should be the awardee. Nominations will close on the 31st of January, with Nicjansma announcing after he has made his decisions. Negative responses are not solicited, as these are only for nominations.

Four out of the five Founder's Awards are up for nomination; the Founder's Consistent Service Award is completely left up to Nic. The criteria/descriptions of the awards can be found here.

Please post your nominations under the appropriate sub-heading.

Note: Revanche has excused himself as a nominee from the process. There are plenty of noteworthy members of the community deserving recognition.

Founder's Outstanding Member of the Year Award

  • Doneve:
    • As well as for the reasons below, Doneve is here day-in, day-out, making tens (if not, hundreds) of changes each day across the spectrum: categorization, editing, formatting, importing, multiple project involvement. And when it comes to projects, you can count on Doneve to be the engine of the project, taking part in discussions, quickly adapting to evolving standards and (more often than not) completing the bulk of the project's requirements, all while working in a second language (to his German).--Revanche (talk|contribs) 07:12, 22 January 2012 (PST)
  • ClanWolverine101:
    • This feels like a cop-out, for crediting him for something for which he has already been nominated, but the standard which ClanWolverine101 has established for his own efforts on writing or improving articles cannot be understated and really does re-set the bar for every other article. He has improved of numerous military commands and exisiting biographies, but what I most appreciate is his completed articles on otherwise B- and C-grade characters who are made interesting by the tying together of facts from numerous references. He is also involved in policy development, helping shape the discussion of BTW's guidelines.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 07:12, 22 January 2012 (PST)
  • BrokenMnemonic:
    • A new member in 2011, BrokenMnemonic has jumped feet-first into policy and sheer data-crunching, becoming the Project: Planet Cartographer and fact-checker for all things historic, regarding planetary ownership. If a certain project manager would get off his duff [cough, cough], the site would really see the results of BM's efforts.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 07:12, 22 January 2012 (PST)
  • Frabby:
    • I usually try to downplay the presence of Admins in my nominations for the Founder's Awards, because we are here for the same reason every other Editor and Writer is here: to improve the wiki, except that we have a spotlight shining on us simply because of our additional access (not because we are any better contributors by default). However, Frabby should stand out for his consistent presence, calming nature and rational line of thinking that he brings to the Recent Changes page. If he's not blocking & correcting vandalism, he's soothing chafed feelings, highlighting already established policy, suggesting ways to come to a consensus. You don't have to be an admin to do most of those things, so that's why I'm nominating Frabby.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 07:17, 22 January 2012 (PST)

Founder's Superior Editor of the Year Award

  • Doneve:
    • For identifying/tagging stub articles and improving them, such as with Diedre Lear.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 06:01, 22 January 2012 (PST)
    • For being the go-to graphic provider that image requesters turn to, importing clean and article-ready pictures by the metric ton.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 06:53, 22 January 2012 (PST)
  • Dmon:
    • Other BTW editing powerhouse, Dmon has provided huge levels of small, accurate and critical edits that update articles (primarily of military commands) to the latest reference sources. While not engaging in too many discussions, he's the drone (meant in a very complimentary way) behind the scenes that keeps the established articles from withering away with non-updated material. His edits are always within established standards and I have no idea if I've ever had to correct his course. Dmon epitomizes those that make things better and often go overlooked when compared to the big marquee changes from other contributors.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 07:44, 22 January 2012 (PST)
    • Seconded. Dmon's on my list here for the same reasons as Mbear above. Frabby 10:26, 22 January 2012 (PST)
  • Neufeld
    • Again, my reasoning is the large number of good edits in the last year. Frabby 10:26, 22 January 2012 (PST)

Founder's Superior Writer of the Year Award

  • ClanWolverine101:
    • For the creation of the (Superior Article award-winning) Alpha Regiment (Wolf's Dragoons).--Revanche (talk|contribs) 05:54, 22 January 2012 (PST)
    • For the creation of the (Good Article award-winning) Connor Gilderoy.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 05:54, 22 January 2012 (PST)
    • For the massive re-design of Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 05:54, 22 January 2012 (PST)
    • Seconded for generally setting standards regarding article quality. I wouldn't suggest him for any one particular article because we have the Good/Superior Article Awards for that. The Founder's Awards should consider the width and breadth of a contributor's work and CW101 clearly stands out as a shining example of how the perfect BTW contributor should be. Frabby 10:26, 22 January 2012 (PST)
    • I would to say ClanWolverine101 must become this award, he write in deep articles and don't forget the minor characters of the BT universe, and set a standard for articles.--Doneve 11:57, 22 January 2012 (PST)

Founder's Honorable Mention Award

  • Wrangler:
    • Though quieter on the talk pages this year, Wrangler is a continued presence on BTW, with primarily administrative upkeep of the wiki behind-the-scenes.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 07:27, 22 January 2012 (PST)
