Repulse is described in some detail in the (apocryphal) German novel Gier, where it is portrayed as a frigid ocean world with domed underwater cities (such as Guandoa), but also desolate, rocky (granite) land masses.

Planetary History

Though a lush world full of possibilities, the planet had a low population and there was not enough manpower to take advantage of the potential. In an act of ingenuity, the planetary government offered land grants to any SLDF soldier that settled on world. Additional benefits would be given if the soldier also signed up for the militia. By 2764, the Repulse militia has swelled in size at the cost of resident SLDF units such as the 19th Infantry Division.[10]

During the Jihad, and after the WoB bombardment of Sian, Capellan Confederation citizens started what they called "The Time of Vengeance". In February 3071 a group of Capellans several thousand strong attacked the HPG Compound.. The eighty-nine members of the HPG administration in the city of Active were unable to keep the rioters out, and in two short hours the entire complex was burned to the ground. When the local police responded in the morning they found burnt complex and the murdered, brutalized bodies of all 89 Blakists.[11]
