Owner History

Planetary Info

Richmond appears to be a habitable planet, with breathable atmosphere, forests and rivers.[citation needed]

By 3062, it was considered a "small" world, with the capital city of Newport containing the HPG, the principal spaceport and a quarter of the total population. Nestled within an evergreen forest, Newport is situated on the bank of the very large New James River which is 600 meters across at its widest point, and deep enough for ocean-going ships. Another mentioned land feature is the Derrington Plateau, apparently situated to the south.[22]

Richmond also housed an Interstellar Expeditions office in 3095. This office coordinated all Coreward operations.[23]

Planetary History

In 2825 Richmond was home to an internment camp which was raided by the Minnesota Tribe. Although the tribe presumably couldn't know about the camp, the tribe took all of the prisoners off world with them.[9]

Clan Invasion

During the Clan Invasion, the Smoke Jaguars launched an attack on Richmond using two Trinaries (Assault and Second Battle) of the Fifth Jaguar Regulars, Alpha Galaxy. Khan Lincoln Osis personally issued the batchall to the defending force, the First Alshain Regulars, and was answered with honor by their commanding officer Tai-sa Donald Ashira, who chose to the rocky grounds of Crag Gorge as their appointed battlefield. Over the course of four days the defending Kurita soldiers fought with honor but, despite their superior numbers, could not overcome the Jaguars' superior technology. They made a final oath to never surrender and decided to make their final stand in Olderson Pass in the north wall of the gorge. In a brutal frontal assault the Smoke Jaguars overran the defenders' position and annihilated them, capturing less than five percent of the First Regulars as bondsmen.[24]

Operation Bulldog

Richmond was invaded in the fourth wave of Operation Bulldog by the 3rd Night Stalkers; the defending Clan Smoke Jaguar 47th Garrison Cluster had already retreated off-world by the time the invaders reached the planet.[25]
