Rodigo I (Chekaar)
Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard
Planetary History
Chekaar is a planet that, as of ca. 3024, was situated within the Draconis Combine's Rasalhague Military District. Duke Hassid Ricol was Duke of Chekaar at this time.[50]
Ricol's war leader, Harimandir Singh, was a native of Chekaar[50] and at one point longed for the crystal clear skies and gleaming salt flats of his home desert.[51]
Since it does not show up on any star maps under this name and considering the official ruling that all systems in the Inner Sphere have been mapped by now, Chekaar is implied to be a secondary planet in a system going by a different name. Possible systems include the Rodigo system, the birthplace of Duke Hassid Ricol which is also named as the seat of his power in apocryphal sources,[52] or the Kaesong system that replaced Chekaar in the German translation of the only source ever naming it.
In Tamar Rising, an inset chronicling the history of the Ricol family and their Duchy of Rodigo, confirmed Chekaar as a sister world of Rodigo in the same system. It was one of several of the duchy’s fourteen systems (by 3027) in which the Ricols also controlled interests on secondary planets.

Planetary History
Succession Wars
Rodigo was one of the first Lyran worlds to be conquered by the Draconis Combine during the First Succession War. The defending Eleventh Lyran Regulars were so badly beaten by the Twenty-sixth Rasalhague Regulars that the Twenty-sixth's commanding General, Henri Ricol, was granted Rodigo as House Ricol's fief.[53]
Clan Invasion
Rodigo was conquered by Clan Wolf during Operation Revival in May 3050. Initially only Trinary Command of the 11th Battle Cluster, under the command of Star Colonel Abioseh Winson, invaded Rodigo and landed inside New Starburg. However they quickly found themselves pinned down by the enemy, which consisted not only of the 1st New Starburg Mechanized Cavalry Regiment but also the surviving elements of the Black Outlaws and Skinner's Scimitars, a pair of mercenary companies who had previously fought Clan Wolf at The Edge and Alleghe respectively. Under fire from the swift vehicles of the cavalry regiment and a number of 'Mechs equivalent to two reinforced companies, Star Colonel Abioseh Winson reluctantly and embarrassingly was forced to break his bid and request the assistance of Star Colonel Dwillt Radick of 16th Battle Cluster. With the help of the 16th's Third Alpha Nova Clan Wolf succeeded in defeating the defenders.[54]
Jihad
The planet was conquered again during the Jihad; Clan Hell's Horses launched an invasion of the Clan Wolf holdings in the Inner Sphere in early 3071, acquiring holdings for their own relocation to Spheroid space. Rodigo was seized by the Hell's Horses between the 7th and 14th of April 3071.[37]
