Ibex Rampant was a BattleMech equipped warband of uncertain kind, but apparently a militia or terrorist organization (as opposed to a mercenary unit) that fought for and later wanted to reinstate the Aurigan Directorate during and after the civil war that was the Arano Restoration around 3025.[1]

It was implied that Ibex Rampant played some part in the famine that ravaged Panzyr during the war.[1]
At the end of 3025, agents of Ibex Rampant under Captain Alistair Haust covertly salvaged the Long Tom Artillery Piece from the crashed Taurian Concordat Fortress-class DropShip Iberia, intending to use it to shell the Arano Palace. Walther Suydam, a former Directorate MechWarrior, had been recruited by Haust to assist with this. Instead, he rigged the Long Tom to explode, killing several conspirators and nearly killing himself.[2]
Ibex Rampant had reportedly been all but eradicated during Operation RESTORED HOPE;[1] Farida Lamb had personally killed their leader on Gaucin by punching through his Awesome's cockpit with her BattleMaster's fist at some point in or prior to 3026 in what was considered a decisive end for Operation RESTORED HOPE.[3]
On 8 October 3026, Rampart Company (the restored Aurigan Coalition's black ops company) received intel from Lord Alexander Madeira regarding Federated Suns forces that were operating illegally in the Capellan Confederation world of Hurik, arming local rebel groups with advanced weaponry in an effort to foment internal conflict and destabilize the region. Rampart Company assumed the identity of the Wolves of Joppa and send two lances to Hurik aboard an unmarked DropShip. Once there, they located the rebel camp and managed to draw them out enough for the rebels to be destroyed by Capellan forces. As it turned out, the rebels had contained elements of Ibex Rampant.[4]
Other surviving elements of the Ibex Rampant would later align with the last remnants of Forever Vigilant as that fellow pro-Directorate terrorist group attempted to rebuild to seek revenge against Rampart Company and kill its commander Captain Karen "Sunbird" Andris. With Rampart Company's Assault Lance sent in December 3026 to deal with pirate raiders on Fjaldr, instead Andris found out that the raids were a trap by Forever Vigilant seeking to kill her.[5]

The unit's name was inspired by the House Sigil of House Espinosa featuring an Ibex.[6]
