History[edit]
In 3059 the 271st Wolf Guards Assault Cluster was populated by a high percentage of freeborns and warriors taken from other Clans in Harvest Trials. As they had a large number of fighting styles and tactical abilities, the 271st was assigned to be Gamma Galaxy's troubleshooter unit.[1]
In 3067 they were stationed at Shaula.[2]
During the withdrawal of Clan Wolf forces from their occupation zone into the Lyran Commonwealth, Gamma Galaxy served as a rear-guard force. The 271st Wolf Guard Assault Cluster was the only unit to face combat. They performed a Trial of Possession for some sensor data captured by Clan Sea Fox. Their victory insured that the Wolf's relocation wouldn't be opposed by other Clan units.
After the establishment of the new Wolf Empire, they fought the 1st Steiner Strikers on Arcadia and took the planet from them.[3]
During the Republic's offensive against the Wolf Empire in March 3150, the 271st along with the Bronze Keshik was driven from Gacrux by the RAF's First Army Group. Together with reinforcements the two units reclaimed Gacrux in mid-3150.[4] [5]
