- Double Fortress of Stefan Amaris - These pair of Republican built fortresses were patterned after the construction methods used to build the Brian Castles of the Star League. Stefan Amaris order their construction prior to his Amaris Coup. They have survived centuries of the Succession Wars and later Clan Invasion.[1]
History
Early History
Apollo was the former capital world of the Rim Worlds Republic.
Clan Invasion of 3050
During the Clan Invasion of Inner Sphere, Apollo was targeted by Clan Jade Falcon with keen interest. This due to because of its being former capital of the old Rim World Republic, it conquest to the Falcons would mark beginning of a rebuilding the Star League. The invasion began in May of 3050, when Turkina Keshik arrived with Gamma Galaxy in escort.
The planet was defended by the 2nd Regiment of the Grave Walkers and the Apollo Militia. Initial landings on the planet were happered by monsoon season of bad weather. Put up heavy resistence to the Falcon's invasion of the planet. They fell back to planet's ancient Republican built fortifications. Several Stars of Elemental Battle Armor overran one of the fortitications by utilitizing ancient plans found in its Star League era files of Apollo. The 2nd Grave Walkers resistence to Falcons efforts was incredibly frustrating. So the Khans Timur Maltus & Elias Crichell ordered the 305th Assault Cluster to re-configure their OmniMechs to fire Arrow IV Homing Missiles into the remaining fortification. Using the Homing rounds kept the Falcon's bombardment from destroying villages that were next Walker's fortication. The bombardment of artillery finally opened up number spots in the the fort's defenses to allow Falcon 'Mechs and battle armor enter. Shortly after the Grave Walkers surrendered, ending battle for Apollo.[2]
