Cal Jorgensson (born 27?? - Died October 7th, 2834[1]) - 28th Century Clan MechWarrior, officer, and the last Khan of Clan Widowmaker.

Personality

Jorgensson was known in his younger years as brash and outspoken individual.

Brief Character History

Cal Jorgensson was among many of Nicholas Kerensky followers whom joined him in for the Second Exodus travel to Strana Mechty.[2] He is also the brother of Hans Ole Jorgensson, future saKhan of Clan Ghost Bear.

Operation Klondike

Dagda Campaign

After the initial assaults of Dagda in September of 2821, Cal along with his rest of his Clan's Cluster attacked the Pentagon Power known as Oriente Dominion. The Dominion forces were only equipped with tank and infantry forces, Cal and rest of the Widowmakers force demolished easy. However, Cal's life would be changed forever by the sound of a gun shot. Within the recently secured village of Sunflower on October 21st, saKhan Mariel Sanders would be assassinated by gunman dressed up as a trader. The Clan suspended its combat operations for two days. After long meeting, the Warriors of Widowmakers choose Cal as their new Junior saKhan of the Widowmakers. He was first individual to be elected by provisions written by Nicholas Kerensky, case of the death of a Khan in the field.

Once elevated, saKhan Jorgensson abrasive personality triggered bad relations with his Clan's fellow invasion partners; Clan Goliath Scorpion and Clan Fire Mandrill. He triggered ill-relations by referring to those Clan's combat operations as badly organized side shows to Widowmaker's operations. Scorpion Khan Cyrus Elam angered by Cal's brash words attempted to initiate a Trial of Grievance against newly elevated saKhan. However, ilKhan Kerensky refuse them conduct the trial. He and his Khan Karrige would annihilate remaining soldier of the Dominion as they viewed as justice rendered for assassination of saKhan Sanders.[3]

Later Years: the Brutal and the End

During the Wolverine Treachery, Khan Karrige would be killed in the conflict with now Not-Named Clan in 2823.[4][5] Jorgenson is elevated to senior Khan of Widowmakers.

However, Clan affairs had not gone smoothly with its own lower-castes. The Widowmaker's merchants staggered a insurrection due freedom that Clan Wolf merchants seem to enjoy to be able to do their job. With Clan Wolf's economic growth, the Wolves merchants challenged Widowmaker's Merchants for year worth of bauxite ore used to make ferro-alluminium from its mines on Dadga. Khan Jorgensson and his fellow saKhan attempted to block the trial from taking place, which Wolves merchants called on its warrior touman fight formal Trial of Possession. Despite the Widowmaker's loss, its' merchants were awed by respect Wolves' merchants were given by its military and the freedoms they'd received. The merchants protested for same rights as their Clan Wolf counterparts, which in kind resulted in what was seen by Khan Jorgensson and his fellows as insurrection. Jorgensson's Widowmakers were known to be at times brutal with their own civilian population, Khan Jorgensson had merchants killed. The brutality exhibited by Jorgensson's clan touman shocked greater community of the Clans. Khan Jorgensson would be say it was matter of internal affairs, pointed finger at Wolf Khan Jerome Winson as cause of Widowmaker's uprising.

Khan Winson turn to the Clan Grand Council which said the Widowmaker were unfit for rule, which Counsel agreed to Wolf Khan's demand for Trial of Absorption. Khan Jorgensson issued Trial of Refusal to fight right for his Clan to continue to exist.

On October 7th, 2834 Khan Jorgenson and Khan Winson posed to do battle on Ironhold, in the Steitz Plains. Jorgenson headed up ten stars worth of 'mechs pose to do battle with Wolves Cluster. His battle with the Wolf would be overseen by ilKhan Nicholas Kerensky and other Khans of the council in their BattleMechs.

In the course of the battle, Khan Jorgenson and Winson would call Trial of Grievance at the height of the battle. Jorgenson dueled the Wolf Khan in his BattleMech, where he did not fair well against the Winson. As all look lost for him, a Widowmaker star of 'Mechs broke the Circle of Equals to save him being slayed by Khan Winson. The 'Mech of the Grand Council broke circle as well to stop Widowmaker 'Mechs from interfering. Jorgenson's mech at the time had been knocked down. Reportedly dazed, Jorgensson saw a Atlas peering down on him, he then fired into the Atlas's head. In doing so, he to his dismay had killed the ilKhan. This sent the Wolves into a frenzy, in which they slaughter every last of the Widowmakers on the field. Ironically, Khan Jorgensson had survived the battle only to be executed shortly after.[6][7] [8]

Notes

  • Jorgensson apparently piloted a Highlander battlemech. According to one source, the weapon he fired that slew Nicholas Kerensky was a Large Laser, which brings into question what variant of the Highlander he was using.
  • As of this writing there is no profile information on this character's background other than from few resources published.
