Planetary History
After the fall of the Rim Worlds Republic, the planet Idrmach had been a base of operations for a host of pirate bands of varying sizes. These pirates were the subject of an aggressive and determined "cleansing" operation conducted by the nearby Lyran Commonwealth in 2810, which also razed the majority of a primitive arms manufacturing industry present on the planet.[28]
The remaining pirate population of Idrmach was left to die and the Idrmach system would soon have been left uninhabited, if not for the arrival of the JumpShip Pendragon and the four thousand colonists she was transporting. The colonists claimed to have been the subject of a misjump in 2372, making them several centuries adrift from their origin, although this story couldn't be proven. The theory the colonists were deliberately covering their origins with an outlandish story was floated, while other possibilities included the Pendragon being a refugee ship from a failing Rim Worlds Republic world looking to flee the legacies of Stefan Amaris.[28]
Whatever the origins of the Pendragon and her colonists, they proved the salvation of Idrmach. The pirates had quickly moved to establish themselves as rulers over the world through a system of organized criminal families. Idrmach, a green and fertile world, allowed the colonist population to explode, making the Pendragon directly responsible for the growth of a relatively prosperous Periphery world (even after the failure of the local HPG station left Idrmach cut-off).[28]
Notes
- Idrmach is referred to as Idrmarch in at least one source,[28] but it has been confirmed by a BattleTech Developer that the correct spelling for the planet's name is Idrmach.[29]
