The Dove system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as of 2750 was located in the Camlann Shire region of the Federation of Skye within the Lyran Commonwealth.[1][2]

System Description[edit]

The Dove system is located near the Caldrea and Trolloc Prime systems.[1][2]

System History[edit]

The Dove system was colonized more than once; originally colonized during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra,[3] the system was abandoned or depopulated during the early twenty-fourth century[4] before being recolonized at some point during or shortly before the Age of War.[5] Dove was removed from maps for a second time during the First Succession War,[5][6] indicating that the system had been abandoned or depopulated again.

Age of War[edit]

During the Age of War, the DCMS sent the First Rasalhague Hussars to raid the planet in June 2498. During the battle the Hussars tried to ambush the defending LCAF forces, the Second Camlann Shire Guards, by using a Mobile HQ as bait.[7]

Star League Era[edit]

During the Star League era Dove was an important industrial site for the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces as it was the site of the Steiner Aerospace Manufacturing complex. Few systems outside of Sol could match the prodigious quantities of aerospace fighters produced by the Steiner Aerospace Manufacturing complex, and the LCAF believed that it would take a large naval fleet to assault the system. Being assigned to defend Dove and the manufacturing complex there was considered a politically significant role for the regiments assigned to the system.[48]

First Succession War[edit]

Dove was invaded by the Draconis Combine in 2812, falling to an onslaught of fast-moving BattleMechs. The fighting for the world was brutal, with the defending LCAF forces using nuclear weapons in an effort to halt the invasion, while the DCMS employed a mix of both nuclear and chemical weapons during their assault. The damage inflicted on Dove was so severe that in 2815 ComStar declared Dove to be a dead world.[15]
