Planetary History
REVIVAL
The planet was defended by the Invasion-hardened Fifth Davion Guards. Using their knowledge of Clan style warfare earned against the Wolf Clan, the Bent Sword Brigade was surprised to find that the Jade Falcons could learn their enemy's tricks as well. Faced with the Fourth Falcon Talon and 94th Striker Clusters, a Headhunter Star was successful in eliminating Hauptmann General William Galloway. Command then fell to Colonel James Allison, who ambushed the Jade Falcon forces until he was felled by overwhelming concentrated fire from an Assault Star. The Falcons would go on to be more pragmatic in their application in the rules of honor when facing Inner Sphere forces.[33]
The first reported raid on a Clan-held world took place in 3053 when recon elements of the 13th Donegal Guards attacked a Falcon supply depot on La Grave. While the attack was unsuccessful, the Inner Sphere force was able to escape the planet and the Falcons increased patrol frequency. The destruction of the raid and others like it worried ComStar and the maintenance of the truce they had earned at Tukayyid.[34]
The Jihad
Clan Wolf used the attacks on the Lyran Alliance launched by Clan Jade Falcon during the Jihad to launch their own series of planetary conquests, typically shadowing the Jade Falcon advance. A wave of attacks saw the Wolves capture La Grave, along with Domain, Jabuka, Orkney and Rasalgethi, through the first week of October 3069.[35]
The Dark Age
When Clan Wolf abandoned their Occupation Zone in the mid-thirty-second century the other Clans nearby moved swiftly to gain new territory. La Grave was one of the worlds contested during the scramble for new possessions - both Clan Jade Falcon and the Rasalhague Dominion moved to take the world, with the First Falcon Jaegers scoring a convincing victory for the Jade Falcon's Epsilon Galaxy against the Dominion's Eighteenth Battle Cluster. The Jaeger's greater mobility allowed them to harass the Eighteenth until they had no option but to ask for hegira.[36]
