The Yed Prior system was host to at least one habitable world, Yed Prior V, and as at 3145 was located in the Clan Jade Falcon Occupation Zone.[2][3]

System Description

The Xed Prior system is located near the Alexandria and Freedom systems.[2][3]

System History

The Yed Prior system was settled during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra and was a member of the Federation of Skye when the Federation became one of the founding nations of the Lyran Commonwealth.[4]

Yed Prior V

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard Yed Prior V - more commonly referred to simply as Yed Prior - is the fifth planet in the Alexandria system.[1]

Planetary History

Yed Prior is home to the famous Mitchellson University of Arts and Crafts.[5] Its other main claim to fame is the political firestorm that erupted in 3025: Duke Keskula, then the world's noble leader, wanted to build a DropPort on land owned by and sacred to the planet's Shinto monastery. Though offers of money, new lands, and political favors didn't sway the monks, the Duke refused to consider alternate sites. President Jensen stepped into the situation on the side of the monks, which led the Duke to order the militia to seize the land forcibly. The President retaliated by ordering the police into the forest to resist the militia's efforts. Things would have rapidly devolved but Leutnant-Colonel Greston Patterson decided that the Duke's orders violated Commonwealth law and confined his troops to their bases. It wasn't until the Steiner government sent in a negotiation team that things were resolved peacefully.[1]
