Prelude[edit]

The battered remnants of First Regiment, Twelfth Star Guards who managed to escape the Jade Falcon conquest of Steelton and the handful of Second Regiment survivors from the slaughter on Toland reformed on Wotan.[1]

Overview[edit]

The entire Gyrfalcon Galaxy deployed to conquer the world which was defended only by the Wotan Tamar March Militia and the surviving elements of the 12th Star Guards. The Falcons attacked the Star Guards first, which responded by splitting their forces to conduct lightning raids against the invaders. This effort was successful until a Jade Falcon aerospace fighter killed their commanding officer, Colonel Franklin Pierce-Marinetti; lacking effective coordination the scattered Star Guards units were wiped out. When it came time to confront the militia forces, the Wotan Tamar March Militia put up such a lackluster effort that Khan Elias Crichell later referred to it not as a battle but an execution.[2]

The already demoralized Wotan TMM command group (Ansel Cabrillo, MAL-1 R Mauler; Major Wilma Stenson, CN9-A Centurion; Sergeant Petrov Himmelmann, CN9-A Centurion; MechWarrior Abel Rodriguez, CN9-A Centurion; Lieutenant Pamela Genaro, CN9-D Centurion; Sergeant Edward Fitzgibbons, WLF-1 Wolfhound; MechWarrior John Kerouac, WLF-1 Wolfhound; MechWarrior Cedric Quentin, WLF-1 Wolfhound) tried to block Falcon Claws Cluster from advancing on the capital. Bidding only the Cluster's Command Star, Star Colonel Nicolai Malthus led his Summoner M along with MechWarriors Douglas (Timber Wolf Prime), Jara (Timber Wolf Prime), Leopold (Mad Dog Prime), and Erin (Mad Dog Prime) to brush the resistance aside.[3]

Aftermath[edit]

Dustin Inman of the Star Guards managed to escape off planet on a merchant DropShip along with a fragment of salvaged ClanTech.[5]

Gyrfalcon Galaxy moved on to their Wave Three targets of Hot Springs and Waldorff, leaving a Trinary from the Jade Falcon Eyrie to protect the world. During the Year of Peace, McKinnon's Raiders hit several worlds looking for information on the invaders. On Wotan their luck at evading garrisons ran out, and they were intercepted at the foothills of the Morrigan Mountains. George Lytton was killed defending Ian McKinnon, and Hiro Chipende died when his DV-6M Dervish's ammunition exploded. Several other Raiders were shot out of their ’Mechs before they could turn the Jade Falcons back long enough to retreat off world.[6]
