History[edit]
The homeworld of the 1st New Ivaarsen Chasseurs is New Ivaarsen.
Fourth Succession War[edit]
In the Fourth Succession War, the 1st New Ivaarsen Chasseurs landed on New Hessen in the first wave of Operation Rat. There they faced off against the 1st New Hessen Irregulars. The Chasseurs' aerospace fighters pinned the Irregulars in place long enough for the Chasseurs' 'Mech unit to arrive. Only a battalion of Irregulars 'Mechs was able to withdraw from the world.[1] In the next wave, the Chasseurs attacked Alrescha and defeated the Second Battalion of two regiments: Hamilton's Highlanders and MacGregor's Armored Scouts. Soon after defeating the CCAF battalions, a squad of Death Commandos wounded most of the Chasseur's command staff.[2] This didn't slow down the Chasseurs however, as they captured Yangtze in the next wave of attacks.[3] In the fourth wave of attacks, they defeated Hamal's militia.[4]
FedCom Civil War[edit]
During the FedCom Civil War they spent their time guarding New Ivaarsen. As a result, they were one of the few commands not damaged in the fighting. Archon Katherine's removal of their transport assets probably affected their decision to stay on-world.[5] After the Civil War they relocated to Benet III to shore up the defense of the Draconis March.[6]
Jihad[edit]
The early Jihad saw the First Chasseurs fighting DCMS forces.
The Seventh Ghost were tasked to raid Benet in September 3068, but were intercepted by the First New Ivaarsen Chasseurs well outside the planetary gravity well, chewing up much of their air cover. Contested the entire way in, the Seventh Ghost managed to capture Martine and the Browning ammunition plant but were been mired by the Chasseurs continuous hit-and-fade defense. The Seventh Ghost forces finally left the planet considering the raid a success.[7]
The Second Chasseurs were wiped out by the Plague of Galedon, and the First was assigned to Operation SCOUR.[8]
In 3077 as a part of Operation SCOUR, the First landed on Styx with the 19th Arcturan Guards. While searching for salvage on a battlefield near the Styx DropPort, the First was ambushed by the Styx Protectorate Militia and took heavy casualties. This prompted the Coalition commander to deploy tactical nuclear weapons against the defending Blakists, destroying the planet's capital city.[9][10] During the 3078 assault on Terra, the First New Ivaarsen Chasseurs were part of the Sydney, Australia attack.[11] They participated despite being only slightly over half strength. The resulting combat on Terra further reduced their numbers and equipment, which have since been rebuilt with new recruits.[12]
After returning to their homeworld, the First began replacing their missing soldiers with new recruits. The First has slowly rebuilt, due to their insistence on using only natives of New Ivaarsen.[8]
Dark Age[edit]
In 3102, the First New Ivaarsen Chasseurs drove the Combine off Marduk and claimed it for the Federated Suns.[13]

The fighting at Sydney on Terra further reduced their numbers. Since returning to their homeworld the First has rebuilt sixty percent of its forces, but so many new recruits have reduced this formerly elite regiment to a regular experience level.[12] The equipment was upgraded to 75%.[12]
