9th Division (Word of Blake)

History

Pre-Jihad

The Blinding Light among more elusive pre-Jihad Blake Divisions, with only scatter reports placing it on Terra garrison in North American continent. The unit's composition was not clearly known. The unit's personnel were comprised of ComStar defectors, which allow the unit reach it full strength by 3067.

Jihad

After break out of the War, the composition increased with additional Level III units.

Units Spreading Out & Scattered Reports

Blinding Light's newly reported Call to the Faithful III-Delta and better known sister unit Measure of Trust III-Beta were deployed Demeter where at request of the its government consultated the planet as part of the Blake Protectorate.

The Word of Blake propaganda places elements of the unit being present on Terra during ComStar's Case White assault. Also having the other elements 9th being sighted in 3069 on Atlas and Royalston; again in 3070 on world of Beid. Because it is rumor, it not clear if these were actual confirmed sightings or Blake misinformation trying confuse Inner Sphere/Clan intelligence agencies.

Battle for Luthien

In January 3068, two Level IIIs of the 9th Division, complimented by two WoB ROM Level III (including Circle of the Holy II) masquerading as part of the Division assaulted Luthien. The unit fought a series of hard battles attempting to secure the Imperial City. In July 3069, a salvage team dispatched to the ruins of LAW City's Tokyo Island area was destroyed by 1st Genyosha elements fighing the Black Dragon's mercenary Sathen's Snipers.

By 3071, 9th Division had captured and enlisted the Sathen's Snipers and received reinforces in form of thr 42nd Shadow Division as well two additional Level IIIs units to replaced ROM Level IIIs that had accompanied the unit two intital level IIIs. The unit fighting along side its allies fought the Black Dragon controlled 32nd & 40th Dieron Regulars as well as combined forces 1st Genyosha and other loyalist Kurita forces.

The Division's allied unit, 42nd was target Clan Nova Cat's invasion, which targeted them them in 3072. The 9th was spared the Cat's fury against the 42nd's actions against the Clanners. Thou serious damaged, the Xi Galaxy was shattered by Shadow Division's tactical nuclear weaponry.

Continuous fighting between the three factions had exhausted the 9th's mercenary unit, forcing it to withdraw in 3073. The 32nd Division was had arrived to replace the mercenaries and help the 9th and heavily damaged 42nd garrison the Combine capital city.

In December 3074, two Clan Ghost Bear Galaxies assaulted Luthien, with Ghost Bear's Alpha Galaxy focusing and reportly wiping out all Word of Blake forces, leaving no survivors.

The remaining units of the 9th Division were not precent on Luthien were reported to be operating in Federated Suns operating theater.

As of 3062, the Commanding officer of the 9th Division was Precentor XII Alice Phuong.

As of 3072, the Commanding officer of the 9th Division was Precentor William Nikoli.

Notes

Information regarding the 9th activities reported in both the The Blake Documents and Jihad Turning Point: Luthien are not certain on actual disposition of what happened to Division's elements. It should be taken with grain of salt if these are in fact elements of the 9th or other units.
